Custom Orders: What to Expect & Why They’re Worth It

Looking for custom party favors for a baby shower, wedding, work event, or a meaningful one-of-a-kind gift? Custom orders are one of our favorite ways to collaborate with customers, but they’re also very different from shopping our ready-made collection.

This post walks through exactly how custom orders work at Spriggits, from inquiry to finished product, so you can decide if a custom soap or personal care order is the right fit for your event or gift.

Why Choose a Custom Order?

Custom orders are ideal for moments that deserve something personal, thoughtful, and memorable. Common reasons customers reach out include:

• Baby shower favors

• Wedding favors

• Bridal shower or engagement party gifts

• Client appreciation or employee appreciation

• One-off gifts with personal meaning (birthdays and anniversaries)

• unique scent requests, or ingredient request

Unlike mass-produced favors, our custom orders are designed intentionally around your theme, preferences, and purpose.

Step 1: The Custom Order Intake Form

Every custom order starts with our custom order intake form. This form gives us the foundational details we need, such as:

• Contact information

• Event type (wedding, baby shower, gift, etc.)

• Quantity needed

• Desired timeline or event date

• Scent preferences or sensitivities

• Color palette or theme

• Budget range (if applicable)

The more detail you provide, the better we can understand what you’re hoping to achieve.

Step 2: Review & Follow-Up Questions

Once we receive your form, we carefully review your request to assess:

• Feasibility

• Timeline compatibility

• Ingredient or design complexity

• Any potential constraints (curing time, sourcing, seasonality)

If your idea is something we can take on, we’ll reach out with follow-up questions. This step is all about clarity. We want to make sure we’re aligned before moving forward especially where expectations are high and timelines matter! If we cannot meet your timeline, budget, or other request we will be sure to update you promptly.

Step 3: Custom Quote Creation

After we fully understand your vision, we create a custom quote.

Custom orders cost more than regular shop items, and that’s intentional and important to be transparent about. Custom work requires:

• Additional planning and consultation time

• Recipe testing or scent blending

• Design adjustments

• Small-batch production

• Careful curing, packaging, and quality control

• additional sourcing for equipment, molds, or ingredients

• custom packaging

You’re not just purchasing a personal care product. You’re investing in experience, expertise, and time. Once the quote is approved, we schedule your order into our production calendar. Please note that accepting a quote should be done in a timely manner as they will have expiration dates. If a quote expires you will need to reach out for a new quote.

Step 4: Production & Curing (This Is the Long Part)

Soap is not instant. Cold-process soap requires a long curing period to ensure it’s gentle, safe, and long-lasting. Soap takes 4-8 weeks just to cure, this does not include the planning, prep, and packaging steps. If you need a shorter turn around time you are welcome to still reach out as there may be other options available or other product types to suit your needs with shorter turn around times.

This means:

• Custom soap orders must be planned well in advance

• Last-minute requests may not be possible

• sample product prior to full order completion may not be available

Rushing soap compromises quality, and we don’t do that.

Step 5: Final Touches & Delivery

Once cured, your soaps are quality assessed, labeled, packaged, and prepared for pickup or shipping based on your order details. This is where all the planning pays off and you have truly one of a kind skincare for any occasion.

Past Custom Orders

Below are a few different custom orders we have worked on over the years.

These were for an elephant themed baby shower favor for a new mom expecting a little boy. She opted into a combo of mini soaps, and mini lotions.

She got 50 soaps, and 100 lotions with custom packaging. The time line was about 6-8 weeks if I recall correctly.

This is a birthday gift basket for a little girl who loves doing skincare with her mom. She likes donuts, pink, purple, and strawberry scented things. After a bit of back and forth with the customer about the vision we arrived on a custom jar of sugar scrubs with a strawberry scent, alternating pink and purple layers topped with single scrubs shaped like donuts. The label was also custom designed for this project to feature the little girls name!

This is a custom order we got for miniature soaps for a new air bnb. It was a unique request with little constraints for the project. They asked for rustic but colorful soaps for their donkey themed farm residence. We ordered a custom made stamp with an adorable donkey and stamped each soap with varying colors and scents. She then made a catalog with out product descriptions for her guests to select which soap they would like with their stay before booking.
